[Error Code] F1-00 on an MX-F11 finisher

I keep getting this code on this finisher that is connected to an MX-5001N copier.
I replaced the finisher control board, but the code keeps showing up.
It will sometimes go several days before it shows up, and cycling power to the copier will reset it.
Anyone see this before, I don't want to start ordering in any more parts is someone has seen this before and can tell me what fixed their machine.

Have you checked the plug that connects the finisher to the copier? I've had a number of clients break and smash theirs trying to disconnect it thinking it's something bad. Unfortunately you can't fight stupid...

Else, I would look into your PCU PWB. Check all your connections running in there, maybe one of the connectors has come loose somehow.

I have checked the connections from the finisher to the copier and I also reseated all connections on the PCU PWB.

It has been reported elsewhere that this may also be caused by a crack in the side engine comms unit (the side panel of the rbx drawer, finisher comms plug connects to it).

Alternatively the finisher harness bundle may be too tight. It's also been reported in a single instance that this was the cause of the problem. Cutting one of the cable ties resolved the issue.

Just a few more things to check perhaps before rushing to another board.

Also - what version is your finisher firmware?

Since my last posting we have replaced the main wiring harness in the copier that the finisher signals go through and the wiring harness from the finisher to the copier.

The control board we installed in the finisher required firmware version 01.04.02 to work with a 5101.
After the work listed above the customer called back in this afternoon with the same code F1-00.

Sounds like you didn't check the comm unit on the female end of the connector to the MFP. I would look into that just in case my previously mentioned problem would be your issue, it was a one-off issue though so it may not apply to yours.

Also - the latest firmware version is 1.05.02, update it and see if that resolves your issue, if not, I would consider checking the comm unit as I mentioned and barring all else, try moving it onto a different outlet (a different circuit would be better altogether if possible). Dirty power can sometimes knock out responses from comms to options.

Replaced the tray 1 paper sensor lever part number 0cw4146q276//

It was broken and not flagging the sensor.
