MXM260/310 Maintenance Required indicator not going away

Hey guys, just had this problem here and apparently it's been reported elsewhere. It was a bit of a hassle to figure out the cause of the problem so I thought I would share it just in case someone else encounters it.

Originally, my MCU firmware version was 1.00, did a maintenance, reset all counters (24-4, 24-5, 24-7) and rebooted. Maintenance Required light was still showing, with no further code to specify. Checked into the firmware updates for this machine and noticed with MCU version 2.00, there was a soft switch added to show indicators for drum and developer based on counters and range or solely counters.

Flipped soft switch (sim 55-1 switch 4 bit 6) from 0 to 1 and my indicator went away. After printing the 22-6 data report the drum range was displayed on the printout, whereas with 1.00 it was not. My drum counter was reset with the 24-7, but not the range. I think the range was the cause of the indicator, and it doesn't seem to clear with sim 24-7.

So if you have this problem - do a firmware update to 2.00 or 2.03 (present latest firmware release) and flip the soft switch, or go into elevated sims and clear your drum range counter if you know how... Either one will work.

Hopefully this helps out someone else who might encounter this problem.

Forgot to include my counts. This machine had been seen once at 35k for a wrecked fuser (gotta love transparencies!) in 2011, 4 months after installation. Came back to me at 158k, so it had long missed the first 75k maintenance and gone straight through to 150k. When I printed my 22-6 data report the drum range was over 6 million rotations, even though I had reset the actual drum page counter to 0.

Question on this..What is the actual procedure on resetting maint. count.. Is there a boot up sequence because it's not in the admin menus...or is the fuser reset the same as the Maintenance reset.. Thanks in advance..

Sim 24-4 is to reset the maintenance counter.
