    MXC311 distortion

This is copy and printmxc311 22-6 distortion self print.pdfmxc311 color print distortion.pdfmxc311 copy bw distortion.pdf a few scans i tried looked ok.

So far nothing has been changed out on the machine, I have cleaned the controller area out, removed and reseated all memory and roms.
I am leaning toward the mother pwb. Just tossing this one out here in case anyone has seen it before.
Where the heck is my spring hook?

I had something similar, it turned out to be a LSU connector problem.
Run TC 61-4 as this test is from the LSU control board, not the MFP, mother, or PCU pwb.

I have seen this three times on Frontier series and all were due to a bad LSU.

Thanks for the info guys, I had LSU running around in the back of my head too (since the scans were fine). I guess I'm just really lucky and haven't had any LSU issue with the entire MX series. This is an extremely low vol machine in a metal shop. (less than 30k on a 4 year old machine)

          Hi,

I have seen this many times, it is not a bad LSU, it is only a dirty polygon motor.

I agree We have one in a welding shop that was getting dirty quite regularly. We took out the laser unit cleaned it all up then ran a bead of silicon around all the seams and wire harness passages to the interior. Sealing it up stop the migration of dirt onto the polygon mirror completely.

The Lsu did it, thanks for the info. I'll probably clean up and seal the one I took out and use it as a spare.
