    [Misc] MX5001N - MXFN10 - OSX 10.8.3 - Staples?!?!

Hey all, this one is making me a bit mental. I've got a customer with a MX5001N, with a saddle stitch finisher and a bunch of new Macs. The machine has PS installed, and we've loaded the latest OSX 10.8 drivers (v1.4) and tried printing using IP and Bonjour. Every print job sent from the Mac ends up with an error asking for staples. The copier has all staples loaded and prints/staples from windows just fine. I've even gone as far as unchecking the finishing options in the driver settings, and it still asks for staples...

It should be noted that printing is also working fine from their old Mac laptops.

Try this PPD. It was released in Jan and the only one I could find for this unit.

    MX-PBX1_FOR_MACOSX108.zip

    Good luck.

Hey folks, after much gnashing of teeth, I discovered that the machine was set to default to stapling via the web page. Once I turned that off, everything worked fine. It appears that, while the windows drivers over-ride the default settings on the machine, the mac drivers do not...
