    Sharp MX-M354N Error F2-40 w/paper jam

    We just received this copier and installed yesterday. When we first installed/configured yesterday it worked fine. The next morning while trying to make a simple copy it is coming up with "Error F2-40" and the paper is jammed. Any ideas on how to clear this from continuously happening. I clear the paper Jam and then I have to power completely down and back up to clear the above error. Very frustrated, cannot find the manual to download and cannot find anything via google search for this. Thanks!

      F2-40 Toner density sensor trouble

      Cause
      Toner density sensor output abnormality.
      Sensor connector and harness connection trouble.
      Developing unit trouble.
      PCU PWB trouble.

      Check & Remedy
      Replace the toner density sensor.
      Check connection of the sensor connector and the harness.
      Replace the developing unit.
      Replace the PCU PWB

      If you are not an engineer this may need to be a callout.

          just want to ask you , is it installed by sharp authorized/well trained technician?

              F2-40 is a common error with the newer Sharps if they are not properly installed and/or transported. There are several posts on this site regarding this fault (the troubleshooting is the same). You can find the user manual on the machines web interface. It will be at the lower left of your screen, you may need to scroll down to find it. Just click and download to your computer, pretty comprehensive for a users guide.

                  This code happens when the machine is moved with the toner cart installed. SIM 7-1, dv check disable, reboot, run 200 sky shots reboot again. If code is still there, you need a developer change.

                  Oh ya, and a manual would be VERY helpful in this situation; where are you Paul???!!
