The MX-2300N had an issue with paper misfeeding. After resolving that issue an error code H5-01 came up. I was instructed to clear it with "P, *,C, * and 14" However, I am interested in what could be the real cause of this code popping up. Beside, I realized that the booting up wasn't smooth as it use to be - rather you hear a cranky sound as if there was a paper jam on the upper right chamber just above the fusing unit. I highly appreciate any suggestion that will assist in resolving this error code.

Re: Sharp MX-2300N Error Code H5-01
h5-01 just means 5 consecutive jams. reset it in service mode. usually h5-01s i get trace back to the white gear on the back of the ITB being broken where the pin seats into the gear. take it off and inspect the other side of that drive gear.
if the jam is stationary there could be a path obstruction or something involved with the drive not working. run motor checks on the fuser as well. does it turn freely? -

Re: Sharp MX-2300N Error Code H5-01
Since you can get into simulation mode. Go to sim 22 and look at the jam code list or print it out with sim 23 sub 2. This will help track down the problem. If you post the jam code we can probably narrow it down a little more for you.
Good luck.

Check behind the secondary transfer belt to see if there is a piece of paper stuck back there. If you hear a thumping noise from the fuser, then rebuild it.Comment
