    Sharp ARC 160 drivers

    Is there a driver for Sharp ARC 160 that is compatible with Mac 10.5 (Leopard)?
    Currently available drivers generate a "Does not support classic" message.

    I should add that the driver automatically found by the computer does not work. Printer appears to connect, job joins queue, printer paused appears, unable to proceed to print.

      The only driver that Sharpnet shows support for is for the OS X system. No other drivers are shown for Macs. I've had an ungodly amount of problems with Macs and Sharp drivers for their color machines. Sorry that I can't help you further.

          Problem solved

          My very clever Mac found it for me ... with a little help from a Sharp techie who also owns a Mac connected to an ARC 160.

          For others ... it is the driver ARC 160E that is needed ... and it will appear in your Mac's list of drivers when you ask it to let you choose another driver than the one automatically selected (in the pop down menu in Printer set-up).
