    MX-5112 Problem

    Hi Folks,

Just wondering has anyone came across anything like this before?

Machine is running with a large capacity tray, and every 10 or so pages when using the LCT the machine starts to clean the transfer belt, this continues to happen every 6-10 pages.

Funny thing is that if you use one of the ordinary cassettes the machine very rarely cleans the transfer belt.

Any ideas? it has the latest firmware and full calibration has been done as well as new primary and secondary belts.

    Thanks

    Re: MX-5112 Problem

Here is a solution to try. It is from the 3100 serires but it is using the LCX1 LCC

    Symptom:
Please wait cleaning transfer belt message appears on display every 5-10 copies. This occurs only when feeding paper from the LCC.
    Solution:
Follow these steps to set the LCC buckle to resolve the issue.
    1. Enter Simulation 51-2
    2. Select Engine
    3. Scroll down to W: A4LCC
    4. Change the buckle number for the LCC from 40 to 30
    5. Exit Simulation Mode

    Good luck.

    Bil

I had the same problem as you. firmware was supposed to fix this problem but it didn't. I cant tell you what the solution is as ive now left my company and don't know what the fix or if its on going. All pm counts in life and tx belt had done half its life?

            Is the bypass tray open?

The by-pass unit is closed, would this make a difference?

              Thanks

When a machine says it is cleaning the transfer belt it usually means that the paper did not make it to the resist rollers in time.

Go to simulation 51-2 and increase the value of the deflection value of the LCC (value W).

This will increase the feed time for the LCC before the resist rollers try feeding the paper on to the transfer section.

could be just the pu-rollers or the clutches from the LCC, which causes a timing issue.

I have had 2 of those LCCs burn through the clutches in under a year. It is fairly easy to diagnose by listening to the clutches, you can hear when they go out of time and an immediate jam follows. If trays 1-4 run fine, the jamming of the LCC is causing the cleaning frequency. There is also a setting to tell the machine when to clean the belt. I believe after a jam is on by default.

                      HI
What are the jam codes you get , i have 5112 that jams intermittent from the LCC , i get PPD2 NL jams only from LCC ( although this is the main tray used) gone down the sensor route as there is a modded sensor, This is a new machine not reached 10k yet , are LCC clutches common fault on these machines?

I ordered a complete PF Drive ass , in the manual it stated improved reliability so they must have issues . I also replaced the two LCC Clutches ( Feed And Transport) so hoping that will be the last i hear from them. So Far so GOOD.
