    [Jamming] CPFD2 jams MX-3500N

    110K black 25k color

I've been fighting this jam for a couple weeks now. The customer has had the machine for about a year now and everything has been great. Now its jamming with the CPFD2_S2 code (cassette 2 transport detection) and DPFD2_S4 (DPFD2 remaining jam). One call, it jammed for me every 6 pages or so from tray 2 and some of the time making a rubbing sound. Not a broken gear sound but a muffled version then immediately a jam. They say it jams out of tray 2 and 4 for sure, they dont use tray 3 much, but no jams out of tray 1. My thought process was, if tray 1 really works then the problem must be tray 2 transport or below. Most times, I go out and replace something, test with no jams, and get a call back a few days later. I've replaced the tray 2 paper feed unit with no change. I haven't seen it jam the last couple calls at all, but the machine jam log says it has been.

Over the past 2 weeks, I've also replaced the turnaround unit, the paper stop unit, and the paper feed drive pack. They are still having the jams. I see a bulletin on Sharp's website TB-259MFP-TB-259 gear pulley.PDF, but it looks as if it's referring to the transport guide below tray 2 and if so, a paper fed from tray 2 would not use those feed tires at all. The sensor works as normal in the Sim sensor check. Any suggestions or similar experiences would be appreciated.
    Best rule for troubleshooting.

    Re: CPFD2 jams MX-3500N

I see this code alot with the newer mx 4101-5001 and the fix is the small black square refector sheetmounted at a 45 deqree angle on the lower right side door(you cant see the reflector but its there in the vertical paper path ) square cut out for the photo sensor to reflect, there are actualy 2 of them in line they get coated with paper dust.wipe them out regularly, this fixes it every time, the smaller 2600-3100 do not use this design, the older 3500-4501 might i will have to check.
