    Sharp MX-2640N Keyboard

    Hi.

As you may know, the Sharp model MX-2640N have a phisycal keyboard, that, in some cases, must be used (Admin login, OSA interaction). The keyboard it's like an laptop one, and looks very fragile.

Is there an option to enable the virtual Keyboard, to be used always?

    Thanks for the help.

The keyboard is optional; doesn't have to be used for anything. To re-enable virtual keyboard use, go to the web manager.

Through the web page, you can find it at System Settings->Operation Settings. Look for Set Keyboard Priority and select Soft Keyboard and click Submit to save. (You'll need to login to make this change, default password is admin)

As Ruben pointed out, the physical keyboard is mainly optional. Generally, if you don't see the virtual keyboard, just press on the empty space where the text is supposed to go. This is similar to the older models where there would be the Press here for keyboard message when logging in as admin at the display.

I believe by giving the soft keyboard priority, the display will open up the virtual keyboard most times without having to press the "text" area.

Thanks for the quick reply, guys.

        I'll try those options.

        Best regards.
