[Misc] MX 4101 Admin Password Reset

How do you reset the Admin Password?
Received this machine from an off lease wholesaler and previous owner changed the default Admin password.
Sim 24-30 is not present in Simulation mode.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: MX 4101 Admin Password Reset

      ruben,
      thanks for the response.

Its the admin password both to enter into the admin mode from the web log in and in the administrator mode from the device keyboard.

Yes I did see the post and thread of the MX2310, I wasn't sure if the 4101 pertains to the same admin default log in reset procedure as I looked on the MFP PCB and did not find the exact same dip switches as posted in the pic by mojorolla. The dip switches on the 4101 are more like flip switches with levers linear to and at the edge of the MFP PCB. I flipped each one and both at separate power cycles that did not give me an option to reset the admin password.

I also noticed the posts on sending eeproms back to sharp in order to reset the admin password.

Would be a bummer if I had to do this. But if that's the only option, then that's what I have to do.

      thanks,
      buzz

        MX4101 Reset Admin Password Procedure:

        Format HDD
        Sim 62-1
        15-20 minutes
Note: don't interrupt while executing HDD Format (open doors, pulling out supplies, sitting on platen...)

This resets the password to default "admin"

What if the machine is a 363U and does not have a hard drive, it only has a PB10. I have tried the dip switches but that did not work.

Ok I figured out my problem. I took out the FR chips and placed normal 363U chips in there. I got an AO-15. No big deal, I went into the simulations and low and behold 24-30 was there. I initialized the admin password. I turned off the machine and put back in the FR chips. The machine came ready and I was able to log into the systems settings using the default password.
