    mx 3100n jams

Hi all, I have a mx 3100n that jams when using LG paper. LT is fine. Jam code is APPD1-S, is this a case for updating the firmware? I cleaned the feed rollers, , switched the LG paper to another tray but same result. Any ideas welcomed.
    Thanks in advance.

    Rich.

If the firmware is outdated, it would not be a bad idea to flash. Probably will not solve your issue. The problem does not appear to be with your tray, according to the jam codes. The problem appears to deal with the duplex entry. Problem could involve the delivery unit, reverse guide or something else above the fuser or in the top of the right door unit.

Thanks MHeon71, I thought about that as well, will check in there to see if a piece of paper or actuator is causing the jam. Just bewildered that it only happens when printing on legal paper, letter and letter R both print duplex fine.

So I went and checked and cleaned the adf size sensor for LG and tested in simulation. Only now the mfp needs K toner so no printing until they get it. Hopefully the toner will be delivered by tomorrow.

Customer got the toner and I installed and tested the machine. Still jams when doing LG. Checked closer and noticed the actuator for the adu transport sensor was warped and sticking in the up position. In taking it out (the actuator), the warped part broke and had to repair it with epoxy. Now it's good as new and duplexing just fine.
