    MX-M264 f2-40 repeat...

6 month old copier, dumped the developer at 16,000 copies. I tossed it up as a fluke replace developer,Drum, cleaning blade, and corona. Cleaned up the mess ran mixes and all was well. Customer called today and on arrival same problem now at only 26,000 copies. My question is why is this keep happening? Does anyone think I should replace whole developer units and image units?

Unusual for this particular Model to do "Dev Dumping" usually its the Sharp Colour machines that do it, they have recently changed complete PCU's on the colour machines and a update in firmware to cure the problem, so it might pay you to change the PCU in your machine, New Dev(again..) & a firmware update. Hope it helps

P.S. Make sure if you do firmware that you get the right one. there are 2 models of your machine, One with a HDD and One without... So theses 2 different Firmwares... If your not sure then Print a 22-6 out and it will tell you at the top of the page.

This is the same engine as the predecessor machines, wherein the dev unit seal would curl in and lift developer right off the mag roller. Haven't seen it happen on these machines but I wouldn't rule it out, check to make sure the seal hasn't curled in.

Also have had problems with the charge unit on the older models of this unit. If the charge wasn't re-installed properly it will dump DV, normally within a few hundred copies but something to look at.

          Good luck.
