If your users have Macs we like to use Printopia. It syncs with the computer's printers and basically uses the mac as a print server.

You can try Xerox print back. Works with anything.

          How many users?

There is software like EveryonePrint and Fingerprint which can be installed on a server which then makes the Sharp "Air" enabled., obviously a cost to both but they do what you want.

You can also install handyPrint, to reactivate AirPrint. The devices (Sharp or otherwise) can be accessed by an iPad/iPhone by installing them normally on a Mac PC or server, going to System Preferences -> Sharing and sharing each device. The application picks up the shared devices and redirects accordingly.

If you download an app called Printer Pro you can easily print to any printer in your network. I use it myself and works just fines with both PCL and PostScript printers.
