    mx5112 punch unit pnx1c

any help on this please ladies and gentlemen. throws up a replace/empty punch unit on a run when its empty? sensor replaced can only think of the punch pwb now. works fine 1st thing but when its warmer it faults out no error codes just a user message to the operator and also have another m/c next to it doing the same thing?

Two machines throwing the same errors? Unlikely, I would be checking their voltages, especially if as you said - they're side by side. Are they on dedicated circuits or sharing the same one?

A couple of other things that were recently brought to my attention regarding your problem.

Confirm the drive belt (PNX1 Part Guide section 1, item 20) is in place and has not fallen off or is broken.

Confirm the punch waste diffusion plate (the small moving lever on the back of the waste box) hasn't jammed or broken.

Confirm the sensor & sensor plate which reads the position of the above mentioned diffusion plate is straight and correctly positioned. A slight bend in this frame will give an incorrect detection of punch waste.

Confirm the actual punch waste box is the correct version. In 2009 the punch waste box was updated with a moulding change. This corrected a sideways movement of the box, causing irregular sensor readings. Basically, confirm serial number is past March 2009. You may have an old punch unit, considering that punch module was also used in the older FNX1 finisher.

Confirm your finisher firmware is at least version 010302. This is the minimum requirement for 5111 style machines + FNX9 compatibility.

problems fixed on both m/c's. was a combination of bad sensors and the drive belts being loose.

thanks for the replies on this.
