Simple Question on an MX-4101N

I'm getting a C4-00 error. Looking that up, something is wrong with the PTC unit.

What is the PTC unit specifically? I know it has something to do with the transfer belt.

As per manual. Negative charge is generated by thePTC unit, and this weakens positive charges on the transfer belt, reducing the attractive force between the primary transfer belt and toner.

Slide out the pri transfer belt and you will see the PTC unit on right. 1 blue screw and you can slide it out. You can change switch 8 bit 3 to 1 in TC 55-1 and the customer should be able to use the copier. They will have to press ok to the C4-10 error, but they will be able to make copies. Once you replace the PTC, change the bit 3 back to 0.
