Mx-2314N Pdf files printing very slow

    Hello guys

i have a very interesting problem. 2314n machines have 2 driver pcl6 and sapl
when i try to print pdf files (not big files) with pcl6 computer sending is fast but machine printing speed is slow
when i try with sapl comp. sending slow machine printing fast.
there is no such problem at mx2614n machines. İs there anybody know whats the reason for it?

What is the speed of the internal network, 100 mb or 1 gb? I would try a postscript driver and perhaps change the IP of the copier. Random slow speeds on networks can sometimes be traced back to a bad switch box.

Make sure all firmware is up to date as well!

Is your driver set to start printing immediately or to start printing after the entire job is spooled.?????

my driver settings are default start printing immediately and both machines are in same network 1000mb , also i tried on another new machine in my network it gave the same results. whats wrong with these machines i dont think its about the postscript because mx-2614n doesnt have postscript but printing perfectly

The two are using different printing protocols entirely, SAPL is a relatively new one from Sharp replacing their old GDI drivers. I'm not familiar with how SAPL has changed the process, but with GDI the ripping would have to be done in its entirety before the page could be printed (slow send, fast print). With PCL6 the ripping and printing are done on the fly, and usually somewhat instantaneous provided there are no network hiccups.

What's the program they're attempting to print from? Adobe Acrobat Reader is actually pretty terrible with all things considered, I myself use Foxit reader (love it, highly recommend). I've had clients printing from some unknown PDF program that has similar wacky results, or sometimes just flat out refused to print. It was a combination of a minor fault in the pdf file and the reader glitching up upon hitting it. I told them to try Acrobat and it printed fine.

From the PCL6 connected machine, try to ping a computer on their network, and vice versa. If you have any packet loss pinging the copier from the computer, you likely have a faulty network switch that is dropping packets. The best way to rule that out is to hook up a laptop/netbook directly to the copier and try to print, if there is no delay (as it should be) then everything is working fine, if a delay is experienced even from a crossover, you may have faulty memory ROMs or boards.
