Depending on what version MXM350 is, it may not be possible. The 4101 requires an 80gb HDD minimum, the MXM350 (if networked) required only a 40gb HDD. Putting the 40gb HDD into a machine requiring 80gb will cause some problems, as well as the fact you have to completely format the drive from the 350 and throw the watermark firmware and standard firmware onto it after loading into the 4101.

Not worth it, if you can manage to obtain an 80gb IDE connected HDD just throw it into the 4101 and do the appropriate firmware updates.

I'd say no too, expect to do a full address book, system info, and a complete doc filing re-import (new scan ins), I never trust ANY doc filing or any back up to work from a non FAMILY model... Its just easier to start from scratch. Seen two many oddities to be confident in the data backups.

I have an external device that will accept either an IDE drive or SATA drive. It has 2 ports in it to clone drives and hooks up to a USB port on your PC. Costs about $30.00 and it works great.

I have something similar, made by Manhattan company, very handy tool for reformatting HDDs.
