    POLARIS

    Hi
We have a 6240 polaris which after the customer reporting a power cut over the weekend has now been displaying "L8-11"
after consulting the manual, we found that the ac sub power supply had blown a 10amp fuse.
we checked for any direct shorts to ground from the fuser back but found no problems (including lamps).
so we put a new sub ac pwb in and booted it up, but it came up with L8-11 again and tripped all the plug sockets in that room plus the 10amp had gone again(hard wired into ac sub).
sharp uk tech have been very helpfull and given some good info to go on but i am just putting this out to the community to see if anyone has had this before ?

    regards
    spacedust.

    Re: POLARIS

I had a very similar one on an mx-4501 without the error code but blowing the fuse clean of the board.

I thought the lamps where ok, changed the loom to the fusing unit, borrowed a fusing unit it worked fine swapped lamps one by one and found one was causing the fault.

The more I think about it the more it sounds the same can you borrow a fusing unit to test.
