    MX-2640 loud vibration noise

I have a copier that intermittently has a loud vibrating noise. Sounds like plastic vibrating or a fan. It seems that it is coming from the fuser/ delivery unit area, but cannot pinpoint noise. Tried all the fans, motors with clutches in simulations, but cannot duplicate. I tried removing different covers and guides to eliminate possibilities but still cannot pinpoint. Tomorrow, I will be trying delivery unit, because I find that to be a more likely cause. Has anyone encountered this problem.

    Thanks for any help.

Check that the fuser web is not frozen. The webs stall on these new Sharps when customers run heavier stock without changing paper type.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

They were running heavy paper as plain and I did advance the web. Thanks for the heads up, I will check closer.

The only loud noise I had from this series was related to the primary transfer unit the cleaning blade was flipping backwards maybe miles away from your problem but just highlighting

Mark happens to me all the time, 1 way to alleviate it is to set the web to advance after every job is completed I forgot sim but it does help out on the customers that just don't get it!!!!!

Thanks for your replys. The primary transfer looks good. Fuser web looks like it was stalled. Informed them to set paper trays to heavy paper when using heavy paper. Also increase the fuser web intervals. I will let you know if it works.
