    Mx5112n finisher problem

I have a mx5112n with a mxfnx9 finisher which is the small internal stapler

Machine and finisher is brand new

the problem is that whenever a print job or copy job is being processed it randomly tells you to remove the paper from the finisher tray. When removed is cArries on with the copying and happens again. And also tells me to remove the paper after every print job is completed.

    What can this be?

the shift tray does not move up and down when the machine is turned on but if I keep my hand on the shift tray sensor it moves up and down after the machine is switched on. Strange

It kinda seems like the paper detect sensor is still in effect at all times. Perhaps a step was missed in its installation? Pull the finisher out and inspect the innards, I would hazard a guess that there's something present that should not be.

I've been informed of some other things to check.

      Check the operation of FSLD1 & FSLD2.
Both sensors should be OFF when the paper surface detect lever (PG Section 12, item 6) is at home position therefore, if FSLD2 remains ON (using SIM 3-2), check if the sensor is located correctly onto the frame & has not half fallen out of place.

Had same problem, ended up being a pinched wire harness going to the sensor on exit tray of finisher.
