[Misc] MX2615N problems rendering print jobs

I have a customer that is getting an intermittent problem. When she prints from her pc under any program. The copier will receive the job. Then the machine will sit there and get stuck rendering the job. How ever if she waits for the data light to stop blinking or restarts the machine. She can send the same job and the machine will be fine for a few hrs/days.

I've flashed the machine and replaced the print driver on her pc. Still having the same issue.Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful

    Thanks Kevin

I don,t deal with very many network issues but you can try to reset the nic card. Alot of problems it seems with memory/dimms on here. On a lighter note the spring bike rally is just a couple months away. Have a cold one at the S.B.B. for me sometime-fun times.

Sounds like a packet loss issue somewhere in the line. Hard to say however, has she tried changing out the network switch? Barring that it sounds like there may be corrupt memory.

Another tech recently encountered a switch with a setting called EEE - Energy Efficient Ethernet, it was effectively keeping the line permanently active with a small packet but cutting off all data beyond a basic ping to see if it was still able to respond. The switch was a newer D-Link model - keep an eye out for this, as it'll be a giant pain if a customer picks one up.

Yeah spring rally should be nice this year. I'll try resetting the nic

Customer had their IT look at it first. The switch was replaced and the PC checked for issues. I believe it was with a net gear 5 port switch.

Check for a duplicate IP address on the network.
Unplug the network cable and ping it's IP address from a PC on the network. If you get a response, another device also has that IP.
Ping the machines NIC card to test it with the built in ping command; only had a bad NIC once.

Newest firmware was 1/29 and addressed a few lock up issues.

Found a conflicting IP address. Changed ip and test so far so good. Should have caught that on the first call.
