    sharp mx-m310 USB printing

I am trying to install printer on win 7 32bit. it says no driver found eventhough I installed it. when I install printer manually and send a print the machine cycles and nothing prints. no print errors in job queue on computer and when the job is sent you see it spooling for 1 - 2 secs then disappears from queue. no activity on data light on copier. I know on Ricoh machines security settings can cause this. what if any, setting do I look for on sharp or could it be another problem?

Using incorrect driver. You will want to use the gdi driver if you are trying to print via usb. Should be available it was last week when I needed it.

    Good luck.

Yes, you will need to download either the 32 bit or 64 bit version (it is a zip file), extract that file then there will be 3 more zip files and you extract the one that you need.

A little convoluted to get the driver that you need but worlds ahead of what they had last year!!

SPLC driver in that package = GDI driver? I don't do enough of these to say that with an exclamation point, maybe someone here will confirm.

With release of MX2310 series and newer, Sharp has moved from GDI to SPLC for all USB printing. Make sure you have the appropriate drivers as necessary. If this machine had a PCL print board installed, and you wish to use the USB printing due to network constraints, the PCL driver is applicable for use.
