I have a machine that loses color. Most of the time the first copy out will be OK. It will start with yellow. It starts from back to front with maybe half the page without yellow to the rear and then gradually picking up color to the front. If it only has some yellow it will always have all the magenta. Sometimes all the yellow is completly gone and it will start to loose magenta, once again, from rear to front. I have never seen it lose cyan or black. I have replaced the primary transfer unit with a rebuilt unit and checked connections in the inside and rear of the machine for the power supplies. I'm waiting for a new primary transfer unit to come in as well as some PWB's. I'd appreciate any comments or info. Skookumchuck

Re: MX--3501 strange color issue
Sounds like lsu shutters below drum and dv unit. Check lsu shutter solenoid and slide rail at rear of the process cavity.
Or the shaft for primary transfer seperation in main drive unit has been chewed up, and your transfer rollers are pulling away from the drums. Either cause color drop out starting with yellow. There is updated shafts for the drive unit, and different return spring for the lsu solenoid. All on idnc.Where the heck is my spring hook? -
Re: MX--3501 strange color issue
Thanks Nachoman, Good information. I did get a solenoid for the laser shutters. I live in an island community in Southeast Alaska and have to get on a floatplane and fly to another island to get to this account. I appreciate your assistance. SkookumchuckComment
