    Sharp MX-2310U

    Got a lot of paper jams in the ADF, it comes 3/4 out of the exit and then jams !
    History mostly detects SPPDS3_S.
    Is this a motor or a sensor issue ?
    cleaning all sensors and rollers didn't do it

    Not much experience on this one . . . .

          Change the sensor ive had a lot of issues with the ADFs on sharps new kit, every time its been a sensor problem even though they show as working in sim codes they can be a bit intermitent. Sharp use the same sensor across the board in these ADFs and ive had 3 or 4 failures. makes you wonder if they have soursed a cheaper supplier for the sensor.

              Oke, so if the jam history gives everytime an SPPD3 error, what sensor do I have to replace, SPPD3, SPPD4, or SOCD, maybe change them all . . . ?
              and why does it run in sim mode without jamming if the sensor is not reliable.

                  There is a bulletin on it, MFP-TB-822R3. There is a light reduction issue and they are common sensors throughout the machine. I would change SPPD3 and any other sensor you come across getting to the sensor.

                      check bulletin mfp-tb-822r3, sppd3 is sensor just before paper reaches scan glass, is trail edge of paper on sensor flag , if yes could be exit roller, I think exit roller is driven by a clutch. if not on sppd3 sensor, flag maybe hanging up or faulty sensor . Always if in doubt of sensor or switch replace it.

                          I've expirience the same scenario twice, Paper enter detect actuator is not returning to home position. If you open the ADF cover and try to activate it thru simulation it works just fine and if you manually actuate, it will return back to position. How ever, if the ADF cover is close the actuator is not returning to its home position. What I do is I just undersized both the end of the actuator using a blade cutter so that it will play if the paper pass thru it. Hopefully it can help...
