    MX-5110 punch issue

A 5110N with an FN-11 finisher and PNX6A punch unit installed.
Intermittently the punch unit will punch holes in the wrong area, the punch unit is not lined up properly with the paper.
This will happen in the middle of a job, and will sometimes correct itself while printing.
I have ordered a home position sensor for the punch unit, any one seen this issue before.

Thank You for any help I receive.

Only mispunch I've seen regularly on that finisher tends to stem from either the chad's getting jammed up in the punch unit, or the punch heads having burrs on them, both of which cause the punch unit to lag ever so slightly, and can cause it to mispunch.

I would recommend pulling the covers off the finisher and cleaning the punch unit. Excessive paper/dust buildup can cause it to drag on the paper.

At this time I would not assume an actual issue with the unit.

spanky, Did you ever resolve this issue? We have an MX-5140 with the FN-11 and PXK6 doing what you seem to describe in your post.

Have you tried the adjustment with the dip switches for entrance sensors?
You can also check the SIM 3-10 values for the punch unit.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

We haven't yet. We were gathering as much info as possible since the customer is 150 miles away. We do have the info about the dip switches. Thanks for the reply
