    [Misc] ARm 207

I have a ARM207 that I have been trying to install with a USB cable. Only a 1 desk office. This is usually a plug and play install. But No joy. I had to down load the driver from Sharp/idnc. After a couple of tries, and messages of failed attempts, saying driver was not downloaded.. and not being able to get the 207 running properly. I left vowing to come back with the answer, here I am asking for help to find the answer. Any one been here recently or just knows?

Are you using the GDI driver?

      Older machine.
Load the driver first, then plug in the USB.
This if from the plug and pray days.

      Good luck.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

In my experience the 207 drivers never install correctly on W7 systems, this is because of Windows Update going out and getting what it *thinks* are the correct drivers causing all sorts of conflicts.

My resolution in the past has been:
          1. Eliminate all printer drivers related to the copier
          2. Plug copier USB cable to computer
          3. Cancel Windows Update searching for the correct driver
          4. Unplug copier
          5. Install ARM207 driver (GDI/Twain driver if USB, PCL6 if has NB3 network kit)
          6. Plug in copier when prompted

Even then I still have to uninstall/reinstall several times before it functions appropriately. By far one of the biggest hassles of driver installation I've yet seen.
