Mx2600 frezzing?locking up

    Mx2600 frezzing?locking up

    I have a mx 2600 that locks up turned off op panel off first then main switch inside door sometimes that will work other times it will start showing the SHARP NAME AND THEN JUST LOCKS UP. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED Thanks

      What have you done so far - besides turning off/on?

          Its very intermitent . Reseated all connectors on MFP board. I ordered a hard drive for it sharp converted the 3.5 sata to a 2.5 sata drive so We have to order brackets and hardware for it. other than that nothing yet.

              The HDD is a good starting point if firmware is up to date and AC power is clean and within specs. I've always done a HDD optimization from the admin mode as a preventive measure, along with a read/write test before replacing HDD; and a format other than system area after data saved. By connectors on MFP board, I'll assume you mean the memory and flash ROMS.

                  Try unhooking the slide out keyboard, if machine works ok, change out the USB conv. board, part#CPWBN1833FCE4.
                  If these go bad they will lock up the machine. Hope this helps.

                          Replace USB converter board. Causes keyboard to lock up as well, if you can get your machine operational (my last machine with these symptoms booted up successfully 50% of the time), you'll notice the keyboard doesn't respond and all the lights will be on.

                              If your still having this problem, I cured our mxm700 of freezing up by unplugging the 700 from the network. To get it to work right I then set their IT guy to update the printer driver, and check and test their network.

                                  tHANKS MACHINE HAS BEEN IN OUR SHOP FOR A MONTH IT ONLY LOCKED UP ONCE i WILL TRY PART YOU SUGGESTED
