    AR-M450 ADF Size Problem

    Hi Guys,
I have an AR-M450 ADF that always shows "5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Original." No matter what I do with the fences, I get the same indication. I've tried cleaning and replacing size sensors. I looked at SP40-12, but the manual is not very clear on how to make the adjustments. (I haven't been to a Sharp school in over a decade.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

TC 40-12 is for the multi purpose tray adjustment. With TC 2-2, are the sensors changing states when you move the width plates?
TC 53-6 is used to adjust the detection level of the width sensors.
Extend the guides to MAX and select 1, press Start then Custom Settings to return.
Move the guides to A4R, select 2 and press Start then Custom Settings to return.
Move guides to A5R, select 3 and press Start then Custom Settings to return.
Move guides to MIN position and select 4 and press Start.
When Complete is displayed, that is a good thing.
If ERROR is displayed, repeat above.
If still no good, you may have a hardware or electrical problem.

it could be defaulted to that size instead of auto size

Thanks Silvertoast (interesting name). I'll double check. I didn't know it was possible to preselect a size through the doc feeder.

I had one that would go out of wack every couple of months and then be difficult to adjust with sims. Turned out to be the control board in the ADF. Loose pin at one of the connectors.

Zootec - When you mention A5R, could that be B5R? I didn't see an A-5-R on the doc feeder. Thanks

Unless there has been a TB for a correction, the SM lists A5R in several texts --- it might be that 'mark' not labeled after the B5R.
