MX-2300n L4-06 transfer belt unit error...
Doing first call on an MX-2300nfor someone else customer. Machine had distorted images. Transfer belt was torn in a few places. Vendor gave me another transfer belt unit from another machine on his premises. I returned to customer's office and installed and got L4-06. I re-installed damaged transfer unit and machine went into ready.
This established that there was a problem on replacement unit. I returned to my place with old unit and looked up code. Should have brought both units back to compare. Is there likely something missing from replacement unit that is acknowledged by sensors on rear of machine that tell machine transfer unit is installed. Please advise as i go back tomorrow morning.
I didn't try to troubleshoot in customer office as toward end of day and someone came over to me about the main printer (Canon IR3235) jamming in fuser with pretty bad cleaner roller. I took that back with me and disassembled cleaned out inspected and installed another cleaner roller.
What should I look for on Sharp transfer unit as I can probably swap something from old unit to replacement unit. Frank/ActionPhotocopy
