MX4101 memory becomes full when trying to fax MXFXX2 unit installed

Added this fax unit MXFXX2 (working just fine on an MXM363) to a MX4101. When trying to fax out I immediately get a "memory becomes full" message and the fax is cancelled. If I touch the speaker icon and get a dial tone I can fax out with no issues. Interesting thing of note is in sim 22-10 the MXFXX2 shows up but the ARMM9 memory does not but when I have it installed into the MXM363 both show up. Things I have already tried.

    Cleared memory in sim 66-10
Replaced fax module with another known good unit (same problem)
updated ROMs to current version from 03/2014
restored unit to factory defaults per TB

They don't fax very much but I would like to get this resolved.

Going back next week. Was thinking of doing an emergency boot before I called tech support OR I was hoping someone might have seen this before. We had this on another unit but replacing the fax unit resolved it.

Thank you in advance for all of your time and efforts in this matter.

    Have a great weekend.

Bil, the MM9 goes into a different slot in the MX4101 than the MX363 - that might explain why it doesn't show in TC22-10 and it won't do a memory transmission; I hope it's as simple as that.

Thanks for the quick response. I was just going to add to my post that the ROM is in slot 4 (slot 3 for the MXM363) LOL

Well, I have to admit that I knew from experience that if it's in the wrong slot, you'll get that exact symptom.

The manual is also flawed in that it shows the PJ Kanji slot soldered to the board. In the North American market, the board actually only has the solder points, not the actual slot shown in the manual.

If I had a dollar for every time the builders did this, I would have 17 bucks!

Well I feel reaaaaaaaally stupid. Called Sharp and the service rep says check the slot placment. I told him it's in slot four but he states the installation manual says it goes into slot 5. Needless to say when I go back and check the fax memory it goes into slot E not slot D where I was putting it.

              Problem sloved.

              Thanks for the help!
