MX-M314N w/ MX-FX11 fax

Customer reports a fax receive error of FAIL05 and FAIL07 but I cannot find any information in the service manual which describes this code. Google searching on Sharp website does not show any results either.

Has anyone seen this or knows what it means?

Haven't seen it but I would be looking for a code of that nature in the operators manual. Not the service manual or web site.

Yes the Op Guide says this but does not list any codes

Pg 5-111 of Op Guide


FAIL xx (xxxx) The transaction failed due to a communication error.
First 2 digits of communication error number: Error code from 00 to 99.
Last 4 digits of communication error number: Code for use by service technicians.




The Service Manual gives codes but not informing about the FAIL part of the error
