    Sharp MX-M264n error code L4-01

    Hi all

Looking for a little help. First sharp I'm working on. So If my question sound a little stupid ,please forgive me.
Have a MX-M264n throwing a L4-01 code. Goes through the start up than codes out.Sounds like the drive motors are not coming on. The DV, drum and fuser are not binding.
I tried resetting the code using P*C*. No change.

What would/is the most likely cause of this code and how to confirm this.

    Thanks for the help.

Use SIM6-1 to check the operation of the main motor
    lock.
    Replace the main motor.
Check connection of the connectors and the harness.
    Replace the PCU PWB.

Quite often this code comes from a full waste toner container, which then binds up the waste toner transport and stops the motor from turning.

I believe the waste toner is connected to the front of the toner cartridge, so pull it out and make sure it isn't full.

Otherwise, try removing the units (drum, dv) that the main motor drives and test that it turns via Sim 6-1. If it doesn't, check the harness connection or replace the motor.

Probably looking at a new Main Drive Motor.

I've had to replace 3 of them on these machines , new machines most with 5-20K copies only on them. Not sure if there is a defect in them or what.

          Hi All.

I tried the main drive motor under no load and it still would not turn . So , I ordered a replacement motor. As soon as it's installed I will update.

          Thanks for all the help.

I have a machine doing the same thing. The Main Motor was swapped out ,but it failed to turn. Then The Main PWB was swapped and I still get the code. Now the machine I pulled my swapped parts from is doing the same thing. I've swapped boards and motors back and fourth to try and match up where they came from. I do not have another one to pull from any thoughts? I'll be checking my voltages here in a moment then Tech support.

Edit: I checked my voltage from CN19 to the MM. 19.5 to 17.4 fluctuating on one machine and 0 on the other. I seem to have all of the other 24v on random checks around the Main PWB. I'm suspecting replace main board and motors at the same time.
