    mx3610

    hi all
we have an mx3610 that when doing colour prints with white letters within a black background ...the letters have a tinge of magenta in them which makes the letters appear pink rather than white.
on close up inspection it is the magenta which is out of registration very slightly, but its not the same all ovwer the page....
more predominatly at the edges og the page. i have brought it in thru crop codes but its still out by the smallest of margins and its just visible.
the machine is running on oem toners, has recently had new devs and drums are in life as are all other pm items.
it has the latest firmware on it but cant seem to move the magenta to be completly lined up with image......
has anyone had this before plse ?
i will try and take a close up pic of the fault and post in thread.

    thanks in advance

I would check your primary transfer belt if you haven't already replaced it. You can also try sim 50-20 to manually adjust each color skew but I only do this as a last resort. Check adjustment 5B in service manual pg 4-18 for the proper procedure.

    Good luck.

Try to adjust TC50-22 to under 1.0 even though results may say OK. The application you're printing from may be the source of the problem. Magnify and look at the source if there is any overlap of colors. Waiting for those samples, which will be most helpful.

Are you printing this on a heavy paper setting? If so print it on plain paper and check the image again. Haven't seen it on an Aries yet but, I remember having to adjust the motor velocity between the ITB and fusing unit to get rid of letter halo on the edge of the pages.

This is the tech tip I'm referring to. I've seen it outside of this model machine but, like Zootech said make sure you don't have an issue with your primary belt before you do this.

I have seen software cause image problems. Especialy Microsoft Publisher. try saving the doc as a pdf and then print it.

changing the printer driver setting helped me in similar case.it looks like black background is processed black . you have to go to colour tab on driver >> the custom colour setting's advance colour >> slide the neutral grey tab to left so black in colour prints use black channel.
