sharp 2640n faxes printing on large size paper

Hello all. I did do a search on this issue, but it seems no one else is reporting it. I'm hoping someone can provide me with some detail and / or help.

My company has a Sharp 2640N with the fax kit. Mostly it works fine. Once in a while we get a fax coming in on a large size of paper, for example 11 x 17. On the previous unit we had (also a sharp) this never happened. Is anyone else with this unit having this problem?

Is the sender feeding a ledger size paper at their end? You could always disable fax printing for the ledger drawer.

I'm sure that once in a while that would be the case. Up until we received the new machine that has been extremely rare. I spoke with our service provider and he says it's a known issue that is being worked on by Sharp, but I've searched hi and lo and I see no evidence of that and I don't see that any others are having this issue.

I wanted to try what you recommended, but the service provider said that in instances where someone is sending something on Ledger then we won't receive the fax.

I may try anyways and see how it goes.

Go into System Settings->Paper Tray Settings. Each drawer has Feeding Approval check boxes for copy, fax, print, and doc filing. Simply uncheck the fax box on three of the four trays. We always use tray 2 as this is the default Sharp fax tray. There is also a setting under Image Send pertaining to reduction of images to a fixed paper size.
