I have 2 tandem trays (2000 Sheet Stands MXCE21) that intermittently skews out of the 4th tray (right side of the tandem stacks), example: out of 10 copies, 2 or 3 is skewed or offset. Tray 3 is fine. One console is on an MX5141 and another is on an MX4141. Super crazy to have them both skewing out of this unit. Since it skews, it causes misregistration or a varying of the lead edge when making multiple prints or copies. Anyone experiencing this? I ran SIMS 50-22 LSU skew, which "ALL" were "OK". And I also played with the buckle (timing) of the loop from Tray 4 or (DESK) SIM 51-02, but to no avail. Suggestions anyone. Oh yes, I recently updated the firmare, infact, today, which is the June 2014 release. heeeelp!

Re: Sharp MX5141/4141 tandem tray skew
We have had so many issues with these new trays, we stopped using them. Had an issue where not one but two tandem desks (DE21) could not be recognized by a 5141 for copy only. Print worked fine, could even auto config the trays on the network and print from them, but would not work for copy. We put in a DE16 and everything was right again. If you pull off the back cover, check out how loose the drive belts are. I opened the two we had on the shelf, same loose belts which causes constant timing issues.
The B/W tandem unit (DE20) is no better. The engine thinks both trays are tray 1 for some reason and have to be calibrated manually.

Re: Sharp MX5141/4141 tandem tray skew
I know you posted this almost a year ago, and we just ended up pulling this tandem tray out and replacing the machine, but now we got it back out on the field and wanted clarity on your suggestion.
"Height of the tray"... is this meaning the front edge in respect to the back edge of the paper lift tray? If so, in other words the rear or front of the tray could be lower or higher than the opposite side? Have you seen this problem before?
BTW its actually a MXDE21, not MXCE21 as i stated above.
