Hello all,
I'm a new member. I have a SF-2040 and AR-405 at home. I recently had to do repairs to my AR-405 which I use for printing service manuals and making copies etc... Anyways, I had some storms and fried both my primary NIC and replacement NIC. I bought new components and repaired the boards, but one of them was running old ROM. So I tried to update the ROM and bricked it by updating the ROM with the same software that was already on it. I noticed these things are sensitive in every meaning of the word. Well I have two bricked NIC's. I read a MAC off my Cisco 4006 and assigned a IP in my router's ARPA, and of course when I ping it nothing. So, what do I do to get these cards working? If not easily then I will have to resolder the ROM and make a writer and write the UPD file directly to the ROM (hopefully that could work). When I was updating the older card it asked me for my password and I entered it, but it told me my password was wrong. So I tried everything from sysadm to SHARP. After that I gave up and turned off the machine (sealed the fate). Now the printer just gives me F9-00 print func disabled. I tried a hard reset on both cards and I cannot get it to boot the cards. I read in the FTP software that I would need to send the cards for new roms... (The hect with that). Any help would be great. This machine is getting me so mad I want to take a bat to it, but realize I could see the parts of use the parts for my electronics projects. Any ideas would be great. Oh, most importantly thanks for welcoming me to the forum.
Regards,
