    C4-02 Error on MX-4101N

This is the second customer I've gotten this error on. With the first, I tried replacing the PTC unit, but the error came back the next day. In order to avoid a U2 error by replacing the PCU PWB, we simply decided to swap out the machine. Now I have another customer with the same error. I'm headed out today to go replace the PTC unit, but can anyone give me some insight as to what the cause of this is? Two customers in rapid succession seems very odd to me.

There is an updated PCT. Are you using them?

I'm not sure but my guess would be no. These are parts taken from other scrap machines. I'll look into getting some of the new ones though, thank you.

The PCT comes in the MX31Y1 transfer kit. It is cheaper to buy the kit than it is just to buy the PCT.

If you are NOT moving the original PCU eeprom to the new PCU board, that is why you get a U2 error.

Look at tech pub MFP-TB-980, not same model but may be your fix.
