I have a customer that wants to scan their documents to the hard drive then retrieve them from their PC. The customer had an older Toshiba that would let them access by \\ip address\scans. Can the Sharp MX-2600 and the MX-2615 do this? If so how?

Re: Retrieve Scans from Hard Drive via network PC Sharp MX-2615
I'm pretty certain that it can be done with the MX-2615N (MX-2600N might be doable with different method).
On the MX-2615N, you need to enable the NAS function under Network Settings (also need to enable NBT/WINS from Security Settings->Port Control).
After the copier reboots, from a PC go to \\ipaddress\shared and when prompted, log in with admin-admin. You can create folder(s) in here if you want. Let's create a Scans folder here.
After doing that, go to Address Book and create a destination for it. You would need the network path (\\ipaddress\shared\scans) and use admin for both username and password.
You should be able to scan into that folder and then you can map that folder as network drive on the PCs.
I know this works with the 2610/2640 lines and the MX-2615N operating manual does show a NAS function, so it should work with that one.
I don't think the MX-2600n is doable, since it has no NAS function and scans to HDD are in binary form rather than as PDFs or image files.
