[Misc] MXFN15 Finisher on MX623U - Strange issue

    Hello Techs,

We have a strange issue on Two MX623U with MXFN15 Finisher installed.
Our customer sends multiple print jobs, all of them stapled on the upper exit of the finisher.
After a while, during the same print job, the machine moves automatically to lower finisher exit, prints 3/4 pages then back to upper exit.

It's a big problem because the print jobs are created for a specific order so we have to check when it moves to recover original order.

    What can we check!

Moving to the lower exit have a too limited stack so can't be a solution.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Vincenzo

Are all of the print jobs being sent from the same computer?

I think you have a software issue. Especially since it's happening on more then one machine. If the computer said print to the top and it printed to the bottom the result would be a paper jam.

This is your customers problem. Not yours.

Sorry, may be I was misunderstood.
The software do not control printer. It only generate a merged PDF that is sent to the machine through normal windows driver.
Printer driver is set by to "2sided, stapled, upper exit"
It works perfect over a MX-M904 with Finisher.

Another tech told me about some lazy sensor?
          Thanks for the help.

I have had issues with documents over-riding the windows print driver before. It hasn't been a big issue for us, just an annoyance and I'm not sure what the solution would be except to watch and see which PDF merge document(s) cause this issue and see if you can get it to repeat the condition then try to see what is different about that document. I would suspect that the document was created with embedded print "defaults" which then ignores what the print driver is telling it. Normally see this more with Word than Adobe though.

Good luck with this. I would be very interested in your final solution and whatever additional information you can provide us.

At least we modified SIM 26-65
              Limit Copies OFF
              No more exit switching...

May be a false "full" detection was the issue.

              Regards

I'm curious if a solution was found for this issue. We're running into this with a machine but it does it after about 500 sheets are on the Upper Tray whether it's a copy job or print job. Height sensor has been adjusted and appears to be working correctly. Have changed Finisher PWB.
