[Misc] MX-3610 | Wrong Admin password |reset doesnt work | help needed!

Having troubles logging in through the machine, web and service_login. Neither is working and the only response i get is "authentication failed". Even if the customer changed the admin password the service_login password should still be the same. I also tried resetting admin password with the dipswitch method, it didn't change anything. Very weird error and i have never encountered it Before, help is very appreciated. Thanks

Did you just flip the dip switches or did you do the simulation 24-31 that becomes active as well? IIRC it's 24-31 for admin password and 24-30 or 24-32 for service password.

Other reports indicate formatting the HDD may reset the password, but I can't put any validity behind those claims as I've not done it myself.

Yup i ran the simulations. The HDD is formatted, doesn't help.

If the reset codes aren't working, and formatting HDD isn't helping, I would have to assume the only thing remaining to try would be replacing a) HDD and/or b) MFP PWB. Don't forget the EEPROMs, and try sims after on the new HDD/board.

Put it back in your 2610, format it again, then move it back to the 3610 and don't break it again?
