Sharp MX-2300n Connection via USB problem

    Hello.

I have a problem with connecting MX-2300n via USB cable to PC. I have a few of them and only 1 printer has a problem. Sometimes I am able to print but usually after a few pages connection is stopped. I check the status in windows control_panel->printers and it shows error instead of ready. No error message is displayed on the printer screen. I have to switch it off unplug USB cable and turn it on again. After that I have Status ready or still error in windows.
Machine works fine alone (as a scanner or I can print any information from the machine as settings etc. without any issue) .

Sometimes (usually after switch it on) machine shows an error F2 71 TONER CARTRIDGE IMPROPER CARTRIDGE. After turning machine again this error disappear.

I cannot connect this machine to hub so I cannot test network connection.
Machine has Fax installed but I do not use it.

    Can anyone help please?

Have you tried uninstalling the USB driver, unplugging the USB cable, re-installing the driver.....then plugging the USB cable back in? Most problems I've had with USB printing all come down to the print driver not being installed BEFORE you connect the USB cable. Give that a shot and see if it helps. Don't rely upon Windows to supply the USB driver either getting the proper driver from Sharp makes a big difference.

    Good luck.

Are you using the same computer to print to different copiers via the USB cable? It would be strange if that was the case. The aboved mention procedure is just a quick and easy re-install that fixes most of the problems I have had with USB printing.

Good luck. I would definetely be interested what you find out.

An extra tool for making sure a device has not been connected is available from nirsoft.net and it's called USBDeview. The program can make it so the computer "forgets" that a particular USB device has been connected once before. Great little tool for making it like a fresh connection, highly recommended.

Yes all machines I connected to the same computer

Today I connect this copier again and it works perfectly. I do not know what to think about it. Now it looks ok. I did not uninstall usb driver.

This Machine shows that Cyan toner will need to be replace (black square with C letter) soon but when I put this cartridge into other machine there aro no information about it.
            Cyan has 0-25% left.

              Today my problem back again.

I sent 1 page to print. Data light was flashing but nothing happened. Windows shows
status ready for printing 1 page. JobStatus in the machine is empty.

I tried sent it again and Data light wasn't flashing this time.

              USBDeview shows green light.

              I even installed different drivers.

Only this one does not print via USB. It has Firmware Version MAIN 01m17.PO. Other machines have different firmware but all without m letter. What does this letter mean?

By the way how to check production date? There are no date on the label.

The serial number of the machine gives the production date (as it always has). The first digit is the year and last digit is the month. The letter will often times tell you the machine's family and if it has a DSK.

That just means it's connected. Disconnect the object and reconnect it to find which of the active USB ports is the one your machine is connected to, then right click it and go to "uninstall device". When you reconnect it again, Windows will treat it as though it's the very first connection. Very helpful when attempting to do USB installations.

Is it possible back to previous firmware version? I do not have access to firmware and I cannot update it. If anybody can share firmware with me that would be very helpful,

Akitu I will try uninstal device like you wrote but according above information firmware is responsibly for my problem.

Could be, I'm not familiar with that version of firmware.
