    [Misc] Sharp MX-4500N Interconnectivity

    Hi there.

I just purchased an old MFP Sharp MX-4500N. I am using it at home in support of a church's charitable activity (apparently, this is what the organization could afford). The printing capacity and workability (as standalone) works well. However, I got problems with its interconnectivity.

    1. I installed the PCL6 Driver for windows 7 but it keeps saying that it could not find an MFP in my network (cable from router to printer is good and secured).

    2. When I printed out the IP address, it shows: 10.71.xx.xx (which is also what shows in the Manual); TCP/IP: Enable; DHCP: Disable - I used this IP address in the installation; the installation was successful but still wont print. Should I use an IP address under my subnet? Let's say my computer is 192.168.2.6, should I use like this format, or I should stick to that 10.71.xx.xx?

    3. Scanning - I tried to scan and to send it to my email, but after scanning, it will only show "Job stored", and I could not get the document in my email. Do I need a server for this to work out, or will this work with my ADSL connection at home?

If anyone out there could please be of help. Heaps of thanks for any idea I could do to work this out.

you need to turn on DHCP so it will find the ip scheme you have on the network. If you don't know how IP's, submask, and gateways work it might be best to call an IT/ sharp copier tech.

A lot of other settings; SMTP and DNS will need to be inputted for these operations to work. It's not a WSD port is it - if so, delete, and re-install as a standard TCP/IP port with port type LPR and queue name lp.
