    MX-5001 scanning to a Mac

it isn't very often that I work on macs and when I do it seems that I learn something new. This time around the printing setup went off without a hitch. However, scanning to the mac is giving me a headache. its running 10.6.8 which means that FTP is enabled. At this point I'm beginning to think that perhaps my syntax may be off or folder share rights? To be honest I would really appreciate some help with this as Im not experienced with mac scanning at all. Scanning to a windows pc I can handle, usually.

Thus far I have a folder named "Scans" on the desktop.
Within the webpage: Hostname or IP Address: 192.168.1.107/Desktop/Scans
    Directory: Users/efcom/Desktop/Scans
    User Name: Media
    Password : *******

    Thanks in advance.

    Try these changes:

    Hostname or IP Address: 192.168.1.107
    Directory: Desktop/Scans

Unlike scanning to a network folder, we don't include the whole network path in the "Hostname or IP Address" field. Just the hostname or IP address.

Second, the default FTP root folder on Macs is the user's Home directory, which would be /Users/efcom in your instance. Therefore, you need to leave this part off (basically, using the settings in your post, the FTP server is looking for a folder with an absolute path of /Users/efcom/Users/efcom/Desktop/Scans).

    Hope this helps.

I know I'm a bit late to the party here but I just wanted to drop some knowledge.

OP, if you run into any Macs that are 10.9 or newer that don't have FTP anymore, there is a simple tool called Lion Tweaks that works wonders to enable FTP transparently in the background. Of course scanning to email would be the simpler and more permanent solution, but some folks are dead set on scanning to folders.
