    Canon Service and Parts Manuals

Ok...we are a Sharp dealer with a customer that currently has several sharps under contract for service. There are also several canons (iA4245, ADV-6065, C5030, N3235) at this customers location. This customer has become fed up with their local canon dealer. As we know canon is undergoing a reorg and this particular customer has absolutely no interest in dealing with canon any longer. The customer has asked that we take over the service contract on the canons. Of course we are weary as we are not a dealer and without access to dealer specific resources. My question is: What sort of challenges would we encounter to take on the canons and how could we overcome those challenges. Truth be told we are not interested in taking on any other canons and this would be short term until the canons are phased out and replaced with sharps in the next 2-3 years.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Re: Canon Service and Parts Manuals

I would contact Paul at Just Manuals and purchase ALL parts and field manuals to cover the models you are taking over. I can't imagine that being more than a couple hundred bucks. A good tech is a good tech and can work on anything if the manuals are available. Firmware can be challenging but it is out there on the market as well and is 50.00 to a 100.00 bucks per model/patch. Canon's are mono component so you see some wierd copy quality issues that don't show up on dual component machines. This very website is the best resource available for equipment you aren't familar with.

Hello, Good point except that Mr. Paul Gelsman passed away in August, 2014. ( I think), and his website(s) have been permanently closed.

Now respect of the request of Teklife, I can provide you all these documentation free, I only have a doubt respect of the "N" model you mention as I can't find a "N"xxx model series for Canon,

and please give me your email and I'll send you what I have.

      Regards !

      Jaime.
