    Sharp MXM550N: H5-01 code

we went and looked at 1 of these as part of "check out for service contracts" type call

The other machine looks like is a ARM620U.

The MXM5550N had a H5-01 code, reset using the 14 reset code but paper kept jamming just in front of the fuser according to the our tech. He also said it seemed the fuser was locked up. I saw on another thread the whole fuser has a part/item number MX705FU1. Might look at getting 1 of those since his LFR was pretty sad looking too- chewed up in spots. The MXM550N has 600,000 on it. DV count was 375k & the Drum was the count as the total meter. Looks like it will need those too plus the PM parts.

I see in the Intravia Guide that H5-01 means some sort of exit sensor problem or repeated fuser jams. Guessing if the bearings are shot that could explain the fuser jams. The paper was stopping just before the fuser (pretty sure and not sticking out at all)

We usually work on Ricoh family machines so was just checking on ideas for this MXM550N machine.

I would be curious to know what sort of rates would be typical for this thing for a maint. agreement. The ARM620U has 207k on it and the copies looked to me a little on the light side.

    Thanks for the help.

Both of these machines are low meter; the MXM550 is long over due for a PM, DV is rated at 125k [this might be a misprint in my manual] (two bags needed), and drum at 250k. Supplies, as you can see, often go well above rated life.
If the bearings were shot, you would hear noises - replacing the fuser at 600k is probably a good idea since it appears the machine was pretty much neglected.
The ARM620 dv and drum are rated at 250k each; if it has the original supplies, the light copies may be due to age and will need replacing.
