    MXC310 blotchy colours

    Hi all,

I'm new here but have been browsing the last couple of months, and thought I should join to get help and see if I can help anyone.

Anyhow my first post is about a Sharp MXC310, i went along to my customer to address the problem of washed out colours. This was resolved by the usual cleaning of chargers and lasers, and then running a colour calibration including sim 46-74. This made the colours stronger, but what I am left with is a kind of scatted blotchyness, most notable on magenta and to a lesser extent cyan.

It looks almost like the dev has gone past its life or perhaps the chargers have, and yet the colour drums/devs are at 23k and the TC1 belt is 13k (got changed out of sequence as one unit had an issue).

Any thoughts on what the cause could be?

The drums/dv at 23k, but the age of them might be causing this.

It certainly looks like they might be the cause, they were fitted in July 2014 which doesn't seem old to me.

Yeah, that's not too old, but we don't know how long it sat on the shelf.
The blotchy output seems like it is only affecting the magenta - can you run TC 64-1, A=11 and B/C=2?
This will give a telling sample of the four colors; please post the printout.

Color drums and developer PM at 30k on that model. Sharp uses 5% coverage to get that 30k number. Being that you are so close, I agree with Zootech, probably looking at drum/dv change.

            Here is the TC 64-1, A=11 B/C = 2 print:

I'm going to be replacing drum and devs to resolve as suggested

Thanks, this is what I thought it looked like, I guess the fact that they were not up for a change just yet had me wondering though.
