    sharp mx-4501 color issues

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this issue. I dont have a ton of info on this problem due to being very busy and not having alot of time to spend on machine but here goes... first call was for faded color I did a color calibration and it would not calibrate, so I did a drum registration auto adjustment, it also failed. I adjusted the drums manually and got them close enough to complete the auto adjustment but it still wouldnt color calibrate(reason being the magenta was too weak). I ran out of time that day and the next day I took a working magenta dv unit from a known working machine that allowed the color calibration to go thru and copies looked good. About a week later the magenta lost its density and started to fade again, I did not get to go on that call but it sounds like it was the same problems as before. What would cause only the magenta dv to fade like that? a bit of background on machine all 4 mk kits and drums were changed about 8k copies ago. any help would be appreciated

What are your counters like? An old transfer belt can cause issues where it does not accept the calibration printouts.

Assuming that the mfp's settings are all factory, voltage, density, etc., what are your developer counts? Check firmware, too. I know when they first came out, they had a developing unit issue, that caused the same issue, developing units needed to be replaced because they would not hold their colors ( hopefully these were updated). I would also go through the entire calibration procedure, starting with 44-13 and the density jig, 44-2, etc, and go from there. Also, check and clean all contacts on the transfer belt assemblies.

Putting a used developer unit in would not help you since the 25-2 adjustment would not be the same for the two.

You must install new developer material in any developer you install and run the 25-2 at that time.

Have you checked the toner motor and the toner tube that drops the toner into the developer unit?

Have you run sim 25-1 to see if the toner density sensor in the developer unit is working?
