[Error Code] F2-40 Errors on MX-354N

hi - we are having trouble clearing an F2-40 error on a Sharp MX-M354N. We originally replaced the entire dev unit about a month ago and error cleared. Same error came back several weeks later so we replaced the developer mix and re-initialized unit. Error cleared at the moment but then came back today. We can't get rid of it as it keeps coming back. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First be sure that dev code 312
This error means that dev. Decreased in dev box so we have to search about the reason why dev decreased in dev box
It will be dropped in machine or u find it waste toner
May there is fault in high tension board
May a spark comes from corona 1 so change it

there is a bulletin about the toner clutch, depending when machine was produced or replace the toner clutch with the latest from bulletin. never mind thinking of 364 series

replace pcu and/or check toner motor. Are you using OEM toner, have run into this with non oem toner.

Remove the toner cart, enter and run SIM 25-1 and look at the top reading. If it is very high (200+) you are not getting toner into the dv unit. If the number is very low, below 40, you have toner flooding the dv unit. Locked up toner carts are pretty common now a days.

Thanks everybody for your help. My tech went there today for further troubleshooting. He installed an OEM toner and ran 25-1. The dev reading was very low again (40-50) and displayed the F2-40 errors again. He removed the toner and ran 10-1 to test the toner motor and it immediately displayed "check toner". Do you think we should replace the dev and dev unit again? We're confused why 10-1 doesn't run the toner motor and the displays that check toner msg. Does it sound like the toner motor could be faulty as well? Thanks

A low reading means it is over toned; disable toner sense in TC 7, and run sky shots until readings are closer to 90. Then run 25-2 without the cartridge installed. Cheat the door and see if the toner drive is moving, if so, the toner drive clutch should be cleaned or replaced. Always run 25-1/2 with cartridge removed, and the same goes when delivering the machine.

We 've had a few F2-40 on those MX-M354N. Each time, it was the rear mag roller bearing worn out ...

This is a mx-m264-m354 series ? When developer is replaced on this series 25-2 is run without the toner in the machine, When running 10-1 the toner motor doesn't run unless toner cart is in (I think this is carried over from the old ARM 237 -257 models) I put a mark on the gear of toner unit and run it for a couple of seconds or just pull the toner motor of the back and run it . Also when you run 25-1 the toner should not be installed. Also there is a bulletin out on the dev units and the rear mag roller bearing/bushing.
