I've got a customer who would like to set up Scan to Email with an MX-4101N. Seeing as how they do not support exchange mail directly, how would I go about configuring an SMTP relay on an exchange server to send outgoing mail? They are not using SSL and they do not need to authenticate, if it helps.

Re: Configuring an exchange server to work with an MX-4101N
Exchangepedia | How To Allow Relaying in Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007
the link is for exchange 2007 and 2010 . Your customers IT person should know how to setup exchange for a new client(which basically the copier is) .
In the copier webpage you just enter smtp server ip address , user , and password. and port number. In the old days that was all you had to do, just enter mail server ip address, port number and mo st of the time didn't need user/password. Now there is more security on the mail servers and makes it difficult to setup an mfp sometimes if you don't get cooperation from the IT people.Comment
